You can also download a free program called F.lux which will lower the value of the bright blue color on your screen making it very easy on your eyes. I haven't seen the real colors on my PC for years. Always been using f.lux even on my phone.

This. It's the blue hue. Essentially does the same thing for free as the Gunnar glasses that cost 80 bucks.

I work on a computer all day and play video games in a lot of my off time. When I saw my optometrist, she suggested taking a few moments every 30m - 1 hour to just look away from the screen and focus on something 10-20 feet away. (just for like 20-30 seconds or so)

She said this gives the muscles around the eyes a chances to rest.
