GS[ Controller,Jun 5 2018 07:41pm]According to the benchmark you listed above the h100 preformance beats the nh d15 and is only $100

I'll go with that if that really is the case.

Spending the extra 70 is a bit much for my cooling needs im thinking.
Yeah, you're right. But that's an NH D14. The NH D15 isn't on the list for benchmarking, so I guesstimated.

Ok, here are all the 4K, IPS, Gsync monitors, 27" or above. Get one of these. If you want IPS that is.

And get this...

/e If you get a monitor without Gsync or freesync, then you have a larger selection.

As for the thermal compound I would only use the Coollaboratory stuff if you are delidding the CPU. I would use the Zalman if it's just for thermal compound.

But why? Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut is quite a lot better.

Well Coollaboratory is what is recommended for delidding.

As for just TC I like Zalman ZM STG2

And I use an older chart...

Zalman NEVER dries out, and needs no curing time, and works just like the champs.

The 8700K's run hot. It kinda depends on what you intend to do. If you want to overclock, look into the Rocket Delid Tool. There are quite a few folks on here that have delidded. They report 15-20C drop in temps.

Your build looks fine. I personally don't like MSI anymore. Website is funky, manuals are funky, tech support is funky. But that's me.

8700k h100ihere
Stock with stock voltage lowered can't remember what it was
Barely hit 50
All core 4.7 profile might hit 60 haven't voltage tweaked down
All core 5ghz might hit 75 haven't tweaked down voltage either
Kinda lazy right now
Usually use 4.7 all core profile prolly should work voltage down on both but performance wise stock to 4.7 had nice gains but all 5ghz was hardly a bump
And on that note
You know there might be 8086k release soon
