Talking about a national park? First get a college degree in ecology, environmental studies, geology or the like. Then work for a park in any department and move up. Work maintaining trails and gardens for a couple summers. Do a summer or two on the clerical side, maybe working in a tourist info center. Express a keen and consistent interest in working more closely with the wildlife in the park. After 10-15+ years of working in one or more national parks, you may be lucky enough to find an opening for a park ranger or warden in one of them.
