So I purchased this laptop a few years ago https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834234449 and have decided to upgrade my ram does anyone know how i can find out what ram i need i tried to look at the ram stick itself and it doesnt say

I did however have a buddy say he did some looking into and its really close to the Asus ROG GL553VW Laptop and he said they use DDR4 2400 ram stick Sodim

Please help me

flip it over and open up the back panels and see whats in it.

You need DDR4 SODIMM, probably has 2 slots you can populate with 8/16 GB sticks.

Try using a popular ram dealer's website, they usually guarantee their ram fitting after an exe is ran or after answering questions.
Also, download and install speccy and look at ram section.
