Need more grip, just ordered BC BR coils still looking to switch up wheels, haven't quite decided.

The wheels I'm currently looking at ar 17x9 and or 18x9.5

No I am not going to be using spacers.

After a bit of research on a few forums, a lot of people are saying 255/40's

What would you guys recommend.

Trolling and spam is accepted, I know I have some fans.

Please note I do not want to go too wide, otherwise I'd lose a bit steering response from the taller tire and it won't be as precise going into corners.

Thanks.

What car
What specs
What are you doing with the a said car
What tires you currently have
Wheels as nothing to do with handling

Will do bub

92 240sx

I thought this would explain a bit about what it's going to be doing.

"Please note I do not want to go too wide, otherwise I'd lose a bit steering response from the taller tire and it won't be as precise going into corners."

Plan to attend track days and dabble in autocross, nittos were what I was using sold them a while back due to loss of grip on coming out of corners.

Currently on stock wheels and suspension until research is accommodated for.

False, wheels do have something to do with handling....depending on the type of motor sport.

I don't see anyone running cheap wheels or giant size wheels when looking for their cars to perform well lol.

Have you tried staggered?

17x8.5 in front with 245/40
17x9.5 in back with 275/35

Adjust offset accordingly

You wont lose steering response and get the grip on retake

why go so wide?

i run 225/40 federal 595 rsrr on 18x7.5 sparco assetto gara all around and i have good´ish grip on track. and thats with 500hp and fwd.

for the street id recomment something more consistant like any uhp tire instead of semislicks. you wont get the slicks warm enough on the street or autocross to make use of them. they´ll perform even worse than the uhp tires.

i run falken 453 on my street wheels and im fine with them spinning all over the place. i dont speed that often anyways. they still perform better than my rs rr´s when cold.

choose a better tire over width always to keep it handeling well.
