Okay short story.. won a 1993 Saab turbo 900s in a poker game. Was told it has been sitting for 9 years and he went every once in a while to start it..

So I took control of the car.. been driving it for last 4 days and all of sudden this happen..

Was on highway doing about 85mph, got off highway and ending where I need to be.. then all of sudden I get back on highway or side street and the car now refuse to go into 5th gear.

Would this be a bad tranny for 5th gear?
Would it be the rubber shifter boot!?
Would it be linkage shift!?
Would it be something else. All gears work except 5th and if I pull up on the boot like I do to go into reverses still can’t make it to 5th

simple.... you now have a 4 speed

if it was the tranny itsself more gears would fail since there are 2/ 3 gears on one shaft. you have the b204 engine wich is highly thought after in the european market since its cheap, reliable and can take 600hp on stock internals. i suggest the "saabworx™" facebook group. there are really expirienced guys on there that can help you out 100%.

So today I drove the car and now 5th gear works? What would cause it to stop and work?
