Interns at top firms in SF make way way more, talking >40/hr plus housing comp.

I will intern at one of those companies this summer, and make within $2/hr of what's on that list for that company, so you have my word it isn't bullshit.

Getting the offer was mostly about doing lots of leetcode questions and being ready for it.

yes and in sf or the valley, 100k/yr isn't enough to live wealthy necessarily. you couldn't afford to ever buy an actual house making only 100k/yr..

True, but if your goal is to save a really high % of your income and pay off college, then move somewhere else, that's some nice dough.

This honestly sounds ideal. Would I be able to get an apartment at an affordable rate at SF?

I'm renting a house with 4 people inside the city of SF for 1800/month per person... so kinda?

If you're willing to commute from the west side of the city you can save another 600/month on that. We chose to live within biking distance of work.

Your best bet would be to live outside of the city near Oakland and take the train.

Your best bet would be to move out of the state and take a job paying more money with less traffic and less pressure.
