What are you thoughts on this setup? The highest possible dps merc uses Gulliam's/Treachery/Reapers, but imagine replacing treachery with this.. (socketing ias + 15@ and 2x ias + 40% ED jewels)

2298 defense
200% Enhanced Defense
50% Damage To Demons
80% Enhanced damage
45% increased attack speed
15@ all resists -> enough to cap hell resists a level 93 merc in hell
230 To Attack Rating Against Demons
Half Freeze Duration
Socketed

It would give all the IAS of Treachery, double the defense, +130% total ED vs demons, enough resists to cap, half freeze duration, some AR..

vs

Fade, Venom, 30% cold resist and 20% fhr..

There's been some debate that the ED% to demons can push this armor over many others, by using 40%/15max damage jewels, in combination with damage/resist jewels.

Fade reduces curse duration, and since the best xp is in chaos+baal (if you don't have a setup to support 10 second chaos runs) where you are constantly cursed then you want that % reduced curse duration
That being said, if you somehow never run chaos or baal then yes black hades or a 4os/20 strength armor will give the best damage on an ias armor.



How is it that people have told you for months now that nobody uses 40 ed/15 max jewels and you still don't get it?
Let me repeat, nobody uses ed/max jewels

Because it's probably inferior to a 4 sockets / 24 fhr magic armor with :
3 x 15ias / 40ed

Cheap choice is Treachery, end-game for many people is Fortitude.
Socketed armors are very expensive for a very little benefit compared to Fortitude.

I've seen people using Black hades however.

Treachery in a ring mail #1. always proc, neva loss.

That armour is like any other unique armour, including any exceptionnal armour once upgraded via Ko, Lem and a perfect diamond. This armour doesn't give also good feature unlike as a Fortitude or an armour with any aura needed.
