Vague assertion? It’s no big secret that men in general aren’t as enthusiast about getting married. Some will get married because they got their girlfriend pregnant, some because they want to continue enjoying a sex life instead of splitting-up.

I don’t think there is scientific data on the subject if that’s what you’re asking for. I’m talking of my personal experience and men I know in this situation.

How would people who have no intention of getting married get divorced? And wouldn't the divorce rate including those who have multiple divorces actually decrease the number of people that get divorced?

I thought the divorce rate is merely the percentage of marriages that end in divorce. Not the percentage of people who are divorced.

Schools don't teach morality. If a kid has questions about it , then sure you tell them common sense about how if you universally respect consent/emotions/trust then monogamy or polygamous doesn't matter.

But the priority should just be about teaching safe habits and the education to have access to information about risks and consequences to prevent undesirable outcomes.

I guess I don't personally see the connection to the idea of educating about non-monogamy and morality. Also, too, I think such proactive education would help people prevent or lessen the frequency of undesirable outcomes. If more people had the freedom to explore non-monogamy without social reproach and felt that they had the language to describe their desires, then I think less infidelity would occur as people whose desires are not monogamous in nature would be less inclined to try and fit themselves into the confines of monogamy.

In Western cultures, more than 90 percent of people marry by age 50. Healthy marriages are good for couples’ mental and physical health. They are also good for children; growing up in a happy home protects children from mental, physical, educational and social problems. However, about 40 to 50 percent of married couples in the United States divorce. The divorce rate for subsequent marriages is even higher.

^^

The divorce rate was as low as 3% in the late 1800s.

Divorce had a lot more social repercussions back then, and certainly people felt less able to actualize their desires to divorce then as opposed to now.

I was not suggesting we revert to the time when women couldn't afford to provide for themselves. Just making an observation.

Even in the 1960s, though, it was as low as ~20%.

Religion had a lot to do with it as well.

your assertion can't be vague to a fault when you use words like "a bunch". Generalities are fine, not everything is an "i need a source, gotcha" situation. men are less enthused by marriage.

as to the tonerbond claim, i dont think its good methodology to take out people who don't ever want to get married, because of the problems with definitions. it if were easier to control for sure, why include people who are never going to get married in a study that seeks to find the success rate of marriages.

I disagree. In my experience men take marriage pretty seriously.

That's why 'no big secret', i.e 'your personal experience', doesn't mean shit in this kind of conversation. You don't speak for all men bud. You have a finite, tiny, portion to pull opinions from. Admittedly in the internet age that personal bubble is larger but as has been discussed before can also be even more homogenous creating skewed views of the opinions of the public at large.
