so i bought a door way pull up bar from amazon. i followed the instructions 100% however the only doorway it would fit is warped/awkward, i live in a well maintained but old building.i can get it to work i just always need to wedge a piece of wood and cloth between bar and wall on 1 side.i was wondering if anyone can link me to a place that sells a heavy duty version of these door hooks that would support 200 pounds spread out over several be great. if they even exist

If you want hooks to hold a bar for pull ups. I would say the metal needs to be 1/4 inch thick! So a very big gap must exist to let the door close.
On another note, I think putting that much stress on the door would be a very bad idea.
Imo get some similar to this, go for sturdy. Mount them in a hallway or in the door frame on the side the door does not close on. Get a pipe cut to fit inside the brackets. To keep it from spinning, drill a hole thru the pipe and bracket to install a pin. All this can be purchased at a local hardware store.

I’m a bit confused. Why is it hanging on your door if it’s a pull up bar? It should hang on your threshold.

Ill post a pick if i can later but bar doesnt actually sit in door frame it has brackets that sit above inside of door frame on lip for extra support. Just the dimensions are a lilttle off on the width so i need to jam something on the 1 side to keep it even.

so as you can see the back part is what hangs off the brackets. it did come with some but i need diffrerent ones ofc. can search pro source multi grip pull up bar and click the amazon link. i would post it but probably not allowed.
