I'll sit here and hope the remaster of D2 actually happens...or wait for D4 and hope it doesn't take another 10 years get released, and they don't screw that one up too.

A d2 remaster means the game will not truly be Diablo 2 anymore.

It will unfortunately never happen mate. Brevik and Shaefer talked about this a lot in their interviews

I figured the remaster was a long shot.

I've been trying out Final Fantasy 14, I'm not sure if I'm into it just yet.

Any other recommendations out there?

Path of Exile's new league is coming out at the end of the month. Shit is coming with a mini expansion as well, it's going to be huge I think. Similar to Breach (in terms of popularity)

Brevik said "remastering d2" is basically impossible, and a dev team could really never do it (it wouldn't truly have the original D2 feel). If anything, he said a dev team would be much better spending their time on a new game

Impossible in the sense they can never really truly "re-create the feel of d2" (words directly from Brevik). A remake would essentially be a different game and never truly "D2"

Yeah, the d2 on sc2 engine looks beautiful. Never played it though

over course you will never get the true d2 feels
thats like trying to get the mario feel after you played them all
you arent that young anymore
but the game itself can feature and be an exact clone

d2 remake would make alot of money especially if they wanted to add in event runewords/items, dyes, skins, etc like some of the modded servers had for a long time

i got sc bw remaster feels as literally the same as when I was young. I play it and i'm like wtf this is what I was seeing back then lol.

so to remaster d2 would be no different just graphics would be more detailed and better
