Yay.

More challenges! Something we can always look for if we want. Trapdoors have always been a nuisance. It would be nice to have more options of how to play the game.
What about also adding a small amount of all or some of that item quality mods per trapdoor? If you are down 3 trapdoors (which isn't very easy to do) then you get 3% item stat quality, 3% item quality etc EXTRA as well.


I doubt that people are going to be finding good items left and right because of such a small bonus but it would be an incentive in the back of our heads which makes the game more fun. It also is very very time consuming to find a trapdoor and then find another one.

but you gotta have the Difficulty increase or everyone would just jump down as many TD as possible.

i think that +% stat is a good compromise between difficulty and increased Drops.

If monsters become significantly harder and not just % stat but overall difficulty, We'll see more of a need for creatively selected groups for explore trapdoor climbs such as groups with 2-3x tanks, more guardians, mages and less rogues.

People will have more reason to have fish and fish for fish. People's roles will become more clear and game play will feel more gratifying. More game diversity and anti-monotony will reign. Everyone will have a specific role in a climb like this and not to just sit in back row / do damage.

im cool with difficulty too, but i think that difficulty would scale too fast, to high. Stats would be harder to exploit.

some of the 250+ee'r could drop down 3-4 TD if they lucky and get +50 difficulty ( or whatever) and gain all the drops, gotta be fair to everyone. +%stats is that compromise.

I like the third idea the best (+10% first level, another +8% second level, ... or something like that).

I have one guess about why nj likes TDs the way it is now: it messes up our plan to complete the catacomb and get a map. Maybe that's why? TDs makes Rogues, Monks and Ninjas more valuable.

Paul!!!! What the a_hotter_otter said below this post is mostly true, but as probably the biggest advocate of trapdoors, I say yes to this question :thumbsup: . This sounds perfect to me :hug:
