Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice on my weight loss/fat loss "journey".

I've signed up to a gym about 3 weeks ago, I go 3x times a week, I try to cover my whole body with exercises, depending on what "day" it is.

I've lost about 3 kgs (6 pounds) in those 3 weeks, but I don't feel like it's the most efficient way of doing it.

I try not to consume any sugary products, stay away from sodas/pop drinks, etc.

I'm doing portion control, I'm basically eating 1/3 or 1/4th of what I used to eat.

When in the gym, whats the best way of losing fat? (especially from the gut area)

I've read that doing HIIT cardio is good, but also read somewhere that weightlifting is really good to lose fat.

So what's the deal? I'm 23 years old and about 200lbs.

Thanks for any input.

Get yourself to a caloric deficit (actually track calories not just guesstimate 1/3-1/4 of what you normally eat)
Do fasted cardio in the morning if you have the time for it in your schedule.
Try to go to the gym more than 3 times a week

Pretty basic stuff, you don’t need to get super crazy into counting macros and shit just to lose weight if you aren’t terribly focus’d on muscle growth
Or anything.
Some here will try to tell you some ridiculous shit

It’s not easy, but the best way is caloric deficit, weight training and HIIT.

Could you elaborate on the "fasted" cardio thing in the morning?

Yeah, I'm really trying to be in caloric deficit, I think it's good.

Also the big question that I have is, do I eat 5-6x times a day or can I stick to my normal eating 3x times a day?

Eat when it’s convienent.. I like to eat 4/5 times a day in smaller portions because it makes me feel satisfied through out the day.

Just as long as you’re hitting your macros and calories, your good. You can refine the timing later, focus on the big part now

What are some good foods to lose weight?

Obviously chicken and rice is #1, but what are some alternatives that are appropriate for the diet but still satiesfies you in the sense that you feel you've eaten enough?

thanks for the input btw.

Any lean meat like chicken, lean beef, different games, fish, eggs, pork..

Try to stick to complex carbs, but again unless your worried about postprandial glucose levels, any is fine...

Potatos, sweet potatoes, rice/brown rice, pasta, whole wheat products.

And fill the rest in with all the veggies you want “broccoli, green beans, zucchini, spinach”.

Intermitted Fasting, 18:6 is what I do.
20-25% calorie deficit as stated previously.

Two ways of doing it, but without your stats its hard to say which is best for you, where is your BF at?
Cardio will be your best friend if you can do it for a minimum of 45 minutes x3 per week. Weight lifting is mediocre at best unless you are attempting to keep some of your muscle gains, which I assume is safe to say you don't have.

Before you eat anything in the morning, 30minutes or whatever starts your metabolism and generally will increase your energy throughout the day
