I think we can agree the mistakes he was making were well beyond any rookie manager blanket.

I agree, but he's also taking a much different approach than your standard old school managers.

There will be learning curves, there will be mishaps, there will be decisions that appear to be stupid at times. I mean the rookie part combined with his analytics focus will definitely display some strange results at times (and look awful to us), but I think in the end it might actually even out to be a pretty solid season.

I agree. The Mets new manager is the same way, just his moves have worked so far. I imagine when it doesn't, people will be pissed.

Hoskins has been pretty terrible running the bases and has been caught out quite a bit. I'm not sure that's on Kapler.

The starting pitching has been really dominant and the bullpen haven't been fucking it up. We're getting Neshek and Hunter back soon too.

This team has most of the pieces to win games, he just needs to let them play. I thought the other wins were flukes, but we're beating the 1st place team of another division in one blowout and won a close one.
