You can just unhook the HDD to test. Then if it IS the problem, you can format it.
/e Have you checked Device Manager with View > Show Hidden Devices ... check marked? It may just be a driver issue.
Windows 10, will usually have enough drivers to get the comp up and running, but you should always get the motherboard drivers from the manufacturer's website
Which, would be here, for your motherboard:
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z170X-Gaming-7-rev-10#support-dlFor your vid card driver, you should do this...
DDU Instructions - Nvidia1. Get this program, here:
https://www.wagnardsoft.com/ ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get your vid card driver here, use the
Manual Search:
http://www.geforce.com/drivers ...save this to your desktop.
3. Run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you. If it wants to go into "Safe Mode", let it.
4. After it's done and comp has rebooted to normal mode, just double click the Nvidia driver to install. If it want's to reboot, let it.
