It's harder to make shots foul when you're well-defended. A lot of teams can't get up on him because he'll drive right by, but some players can guard him straight up. Most teams don't play great help defense, which is why he sees open lanes. If he played the 1996 Bulls in 1996, he would have a really hard time depending on the defensive assignments. There were more unlikely teams that could defend him really well back then but help defense and rim protection are out of fashion. If he played the 1996 Bulls in 2018, he'd get more buckets. But I don't think his team is talented enough to take them on, and since the Bulls have MJ and Scottie, and a superior rebounder than TT, I don't see the Cavs winning.
If there's a team that could beat the 1996 Bulls, it would be either the best Kobe-Shaq iteration of the Lakers or maybe GSW when they were at their best.
