but if lebron's jumper is falling, he's unstoppable.

It's harder to make shots foul when you're well-defended. A lot of teams can't get up on him because he'll drive right by, but some players can guard him straight up. Most teams don't play great help defense, which is why he sees open lanes. If he played the 1996 Bulls in 1996, he would have a really hard time depending on the defensive assignments. There were more unlikely teams that could defend him really well back then but help defense and rim protection are out of fashion. If he played the 1996 Bulls in 2018, he'd get more buckets. But I don't think his team is talented enough to take them on, and since the Bulls have MJ and Scottie, and a superior rebounder than TT, I don't see the Cavs winning.

If there's a team that could beat the 1996 Bulls, it would be either the best Kobe-Shaq iteration of the Lakers or maybe GSW when they were at their best.

I'd say the Bulls. They'd win the battle on the boards and MJ would destroy today's soft defense. Pippen, Jordan, or Rodman could all defend Lebron, which is impressive considering that in today's game, there are only a handful of guys who can defend him. The Bulls could defender the perimeter and the paint, and they would be able to fill the paint with size if needed. The Bulls would have the best player (Jordan) and the 3rd best player (Pippen) and superior rebounding along with better size. The Cavs would have better shooting.

I'd go with a 4-0 sweep, with about a 15-20 point average margin of victory. Jordan would probably average about 45 per if he wanted.

Agreed.
