Hello Misc Computer help.

Over the last period of time, probably 1-2 months, my computer has randomly been freezing to a point where i need to hold the power button to restart it.

What could possible be the cause for this?

I reinstalled it a few weeks back.
Before the reinstall, it froze once a day. After the reinstall it didn't freeze for a couple of days, but now it freezes atleast once a day again.

Windows is installed on an SSD, and i got 2x 1 tb hdd's connected for storage.
The hdd's are like 9 years old now
All the other stuff isn't too old, maybe like 1½-2 years.

Does speccy always report GTX 1060 6gb as 2gb?

Dunno. But I do know that Speccy always reports Vram inaccurately. At least on Nvidia.

First test your memory with memtestx86 (you want 7+ passes, single error means bad memory) and disable ANY over clock you have.
That applies to pre oc'd gpu's as well as with ram over default ddr3/drr4 speeds.

RAM timings are way too high for 1600Mhz RAM as well.

No one said it would be fast, though to be frank 7 passes is just the standard people want to see.
Ram can still be bad and not show up till pass 12 but no ones got time to constantly run the test.
I find by 7 passes 99.9% of things appear.

Just hope theres no errors cause then you need to test each stick one by one to rule out the defective units.
Even more annoying is when its not actually a defective unit but 2 sticks won't play nice with each other and
on ly present an issue when 2 are plugged in...

Oh the time I've spent on ram is crazy.
