have you tried the monitor on another computer? and have you tried a different monitor on the one you just built? It could be that the gpu is bad or that the monitor is bad.

I remember making the mistake of plugging into my integrated graphics the first time i bought my own graphics card and couldnt figure out the problem, oh nostalgia.

I'd try to remove the mobo battery (leave it out for like 1 min, plug it back in). Let the BIOS reset and then try to power back on the PCU.

At first i was plugging it in, but thats when i had problems of the comp shitting off, however i plugged it in and i started to play with the power button wires that plug into the mobo and it was causing the problem

Try slotting the video card into the primary PCI-E 3.0 Slot. You're also blocking one of your PCI slots by plugging that video card into the secondary PCI-E slot.

You have to plug that in too.
