Depends if you need leach or AR

My CS barb has ame socket mart and my MF barb has psk socket but could have gone either way for both. I'd say if the mart has pvm mods skull it, if it has pvp mods ame, that way it retains its value if you want to sell it.

Hmmm I see, I found a nice ancient axe got over excited and ame socketed it.

Thoughts on weapon types? No argument that Mattel is best but is there any upsides to other types? I 've had no luck finding martels this season.
I saw that the ancient axe does have an extra range on it

Yea lances are good as well but tri dura is almost mandatory on them.

The rest of the weapons can work but you will do significantly less damage. Exe has some notable advantages like more AR (from dex), ez shield swap (for hc or leveling I guess), etc. Bhammer is popular in hc as well.

Really damage is king and Martel has the most avg damage, plus if you are pumping strength, maces get 1.1% dmg per point of strength compared to 1% for other weapons.

Idk probably was to balance the weapons back in the day. Martel used to have only range 1 and wasn't very popular.

so heres my current lad barb, he can run trav and mf stuff pretty good (im usually in 1-3 player games)
and I want to convert him into a cs barb, so I will try some of your suggestions and see how it goes. I think his life is a bit high, but I plan to run cs in 1-2 player games.
and also, thoughts on rattle cage?
and opinions on a good mf % for non csing? the higher the better? or is there a descent number that seems to work out, i still feel like i don't get as much rares in trav as I could

Rcage sucks for cs because it sends the monsters running you want to keep them packed together.

I don't think you can ever get too much mf on classic. My trav barb ends up with around ~200 I think 150mf is ok as well. I am lvl 95 though so I can gamble +2 amulets, at your level you would probably be better off focusing on mf over gf.

GS barb is always gf barb not a MF barb

MF Barb got angelics armor amu 2 rings - 100 mf
dualleech gloves with 25 mf or chances if martel got dualleech
Boots with 25 mf
3 topaz helmet 72 mf
if u dont need res on belt use the unique one
