Hello,
I will tell you about the summoner necromancer, and how to play it both pvp and pvm.
This guide was created thanks to the valuable advice of Ford300Straight, one of the best summoner necromancer on Battle.net, maybe the best.
I thank him very much for that.

You will see that with the same build, you can play both pvp and pvm, which is rather nice.
The necromancer is also very cool to play in pvm, because "everything is done automatically". Once your army is built, all you have to do is teleport yourself and send some curses. This is one of the few characters that can be played quietly.

I will first introduce a pvm build, which is very rare, is very expensive, but is very powerful. I created this build in single player thanks to hero editor.
I tried to make sure that all objects were perfect, but not beyond. I may have been wrong in some places.




I. Player Versus Monsters (PVM) Summoner.


A. Gear:


Rare diadem:



The maximum resistances are quite difficult to obtain on a necromancer, because you use a bow, and not the usual hoto / spirit combo.
This is the reason why resistances are important on the diadem.


Crafted amulet:



For the same reason as before, it is important to have resistance on the amulet.
Note that mana is very important on the amulet because the necromancer consumes a lot of mana.
It takes about 50 mana to summon a skeleton, and you will need to summon about 16 Skeletons and 16 Skeleton Mages.
32 * 50 = 1600 mana required to build the full army.


Bow:
Faith on a normal base.
You will not use this object.
You equip it only for the aura it brings.


Armor:
Enigma Archon Plate
I like the archon plate, because it brings a high defense, without putting speed penalty.

Gloves:
I used magefist for this build, because it increases the regeneration of mana, which is great.
Another possibility would be to use trang-oul gloves (30 cold res), with tri-resistance boots.


Rings:
I think the best option is to use 2 * The Stone of Jordan.


Belt:
I used a classic arachnid mesh.


Boots:
I used Sandstorm Trek, for the Fast Hit Recovery.
This is the only object that brings fhr in this build, and it's pretty little. So be careful not to make mistakes when teleporting.

If you use tri-resistance boots, you may have even less fhr.
Another possibility, perhaps better, would be to use Shadow Dancer, but these boots are binding because you have to have 167 points of strength to be able to equip them.


Swap:
Call To Arms & Spirit monarch for battle orders, which are important.


Charms:
torch
annihilus
9 * 1summoning 45life grand charms
8 * 20life 5@ res small charms


Mercenary:
In pvm, I think the best option is to use a Town Guard mercenary (act 2).
With the aura "Might", they bring you a gain of damage.

Here are the equipment that I put him:



This necromancer is particularly effective to make baalruns. That's why I socketed the weapon with 2 * Lo rune.

I put him a 160 60 100 armor (160 enhanced damage, 60 increased attack speed, 100 life).

As a helmet, I put him an ethereal Andariel's visage socketed with a 40/15 jewel (40 enhanced damage, 15 increased attack speed).

Thus, he reaches the breakpoint of 129 ias with jab.
60 armor + 40 weapon + 35 helmet = 135 ias

Another possibility would be to socket the Andariel's visage with a Ral rune or an Um rune.




B. Stats:
For statistics, I advise you to place some points in force, to be able to carry your equipment.
You can place a few points in energy, to reach 500 mana.
The rest of the points will be awarded in vitality as usual.




C. Spells:
raise skeleton - max
skeleton mastery - max
raise skeletal mage - max
summon resist - 15 points are sufficient, according to the opinion of Ford300Straight
amplify damage - 1 point
teeth - max
1 point in corpse explosion, bone spear, bone spirit, bone armor, bone wall, bone prison, to slightly improve Teeth damage.

You can max out Corpse Explosion if you want to make baalruns, but it will not increase the damage: it will only increase the range of the explosion.




D. Advice:
During the baalrun, stay a little behind the area where the waves of monsters appear, because you are rather fragile.
Make sure your skeletons have battle orders, and that they will have fanaticism through your bow.
Launch the curse Amplify Damage, and use Corpse Explosion.
The baalrun should go pretty fast, even in games with 8 players !!

This necromancer is very powerful.

II. Player Versus Player (PVP) Summoner.


A. Choose the mercenary:
You have two options:

#Option 1:
Town Guard mercenary (act 2), with Might aura, equipped with a rare spear
This option is best if you face a fragile opponent such as an amazon or a sorceress.

#Option 2:
Rogue mercenary (act 1), equipped with a faith
This option is best if you fight a resistant opponent such as a barbarian or a paladin.

If your mercenary uses faith, then you can equip pride on your necromancer instead of your usual bow.




B. Building the army:


Go to the frozen plains, and build your army of skeletons.
To do this, you need special equipment to make your skeletons as powerful as possible:
  • circlet +3 to summoning skills
  • 3 to summoning skills amulet
  • Arm of King Leoric
  • Marrowwalk
  • a rare shield, just like this:






C. Engage the fight:
Before starting the fight, equip your equipment:
  • rare diadem
  • crafted amulet
  • faith
  • Shadow Dancer or Sandstorm Trek





D. Advice:
Cast Amplify Damage on your opponent, and launch Teeth to help put the adversary into more fhr / block.

Yeah the pic itens are very common on summon nec
Gz on finding out how to use hero editor.

No golem for an additional aura. No infinity.

perf life on diadem is 60, not 40
um is obviously worse than 15@ 20life jewel
your merc has no resists, jewel in andy should be 15ias 30fr
forty>jeweler
"force" translates to "strength"

Also, I don't really know summoners, so I might be wrong on these, but:
-FHR on a summon nec seems literally useless
-I feel like giving your merc a weap that carries no aura is really dumb
-Ain't you supposed to use iron golem?
