It's a good thing the military already has unmanned offroad vehicles, or I would look like a total idiot right now.

Trucking will be 100% automated.
Sure, your niche sector might take longer than the rest, but it WILL be automated.

50 years ago they said the same thing about automation.

Now some cars are built using 100% automation.

Whatever you guys have to tell yourself to feel comfortable about your dead-end career.

I hope you're all going to retire within the next 30 years.

Pallets of goods from warehouse to warehouse maybe. I'm with them though... logging, flatbed, dry bulk, and liquid won't be automated any time soon. The regulations in the facilities that load that stuff won't allow it. We aren't going to have an unmanned 80klb vehicle roaming around our plant site.

Yep and my plant still has plenty of original equipment from 1964.

We aren't going to spend a dime on technology to do the tasks a driver does right now so the trucking company can go automated.

I know. I was hoping to get him to say something stupid.

He already lost his credibility after he boasted how much money he was making hotshotting work body trucks or w/e last year and now it's a money losing venture.

Yeah, that literally makes a ton of sense...

Why would I continue in an industry I couldn't retire in?

Sounds dumb

I guess not being short-sighted is hilarious to you.

Kinda makes sense tbh.
