the higher is the number of the td's you fall in, the higher the drop rate is?
also do you gain more exp and weapon proof?

A high-echelon site member once told me this:

Nothing good ever came from a trap

Yep, I do agree Trap Door's are not really useful in most cases they are a punishment for any class that can not see them.

Also from what i have seen myself. The trap door's when exploring in them the item drops seem to be cut or you are penalized for being in it.

So it is best to remake the game when you fall into one. Not worth losing all your HP vs 2 or 3 mobs.

Just testing it - Down 3 TD's right now and drops get worse and worse
maybe i find a 4th but it`s getting a lil hard now

Still bad drops but finding 50+ items at 49

now 4 tds
gave up 56+

There are a few broken mechanics in this game that would promote game play diversity if updated. It would be fun to actually use them but it's extremely inefficient. You'll want to just ignore them.
1- Trapdoors
2- Off-class-casting abilities. (samurai-ninja casting)
3- Guardians- You need excellent gear to be able to do anything.

For trapdoors...

Basically what they do is increase the monster level further than normal above the driver, which is otherwise not possible. The further from your level the monster you're killing is (starting at 1 level below your level and about 5 levels above your level), the lower your drop rate and the lower your prof rate. However, going down trapdoors is good for making the monsters more difficult which helps items to drop at all under certain circumstances (the quality of properties on these items is not likely to really be different, but you will probably see more items per fight until you get to very high level differences between you and the monsters). However, when I say drop rate I mean drop/time, not drop/monster, so overall since you'll be killing slower, you'll see less drops. The drop quality (level requirement) will go up because that is based on monster level (which goes up 1-5 levels per trapdoor). I noticed after about 7 trapdoors, there was really no point in going down further... in fact after that point, there was a reduction in usefulness to the point where when I was down 16 trapdoors at level 55 killing level 96 monsters, I was spending minutes killing EPs and only seeing 1-2 tier I and II drops and not getting any prof. Anyway, trapdoors are still one of my favorite things in the game, and IMO depending on the roll of the trapdoor level bonus, 1-3 trapdoors can still be much more fun than 0 ;)

Personally... trap doors are not that fruitful, takes longer to kill for the same rewards you would gain from clearing a normal catacomb, but, if you clear a catacomb first and get the map at the end, then it could be prudent to take a trap door... but no one has tested this out.

Theorycraft: I would suggest that in a group, you take a high level character [10-20 levels higher than driver] and go trap door hunting, just make sure that the high level does not get the final kill shot and test the drops the more you go down. Again, this has not been tested, BUT, if you are lucky to go down like 3-5 trap doors within 5 minutes time frame, it could be a good time to test the drops.

This is incorrect in my experience as a guardian user, I have carried many people on hardcore with mediocre gear even when 1 or 2 have been afk.
