it has been relayed in several medias

right wing paper making it looking a bit ridiculous
https://www.express.co.uk/news/science/902350/Stephen-Hawking-climate-change-Donald-Trump-Global-warming-weather-venus

left wing paper attacking trump with it
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/stephen-hawking-donald-trump-paris-climate-change-agreement-earth-brink-global-warming-us-fossil-a7820336.html

The real deal is, in my opinion, that the risk is real; it's the "Venus model". The risk is what we think as climate change, like "few degrees and few meters of sea level", is just wrong.
In nature many things are depending to each others, and this kind of thinking is not limited to climatic models, as example we got food chain & related massive extinctions.

Im supporting this theory since years, and im considering taking this risk is not acceptable at all.

Here's a more "scientific" version:

here's my input:

nb: im a passionate paleontologist. ;)

Eventually it will regardless what humans do. Planet does not support habitable conditions forever.

What some people seem to forget is that although humans are going to be pretty uneffected by an extra 5 degrees, certain plants and bacteria will be. A lot of plants are very picky about their environment, and if they go extinct it affects the whole food web.
