So it's in the early stages still however we will be given a Venom Film ^_^

The last we saw of it was it's role as the villain in Spider-Man

Tom Hardy will be playing Venom & Eddie Brock (human form)

No plot released yet.
Anyone have any ideas on the route the film will take?

Could be good if they actually stick with connecting it to the MCU using Tom Holland. Being rated R has potential as well.

It's supposed to kickoff their own cinematic universe.

Hope they stick with having Carnage show up.

A video was released where the director (i think) mentioned which comic arcs the movie world be based on. I saw it on imdb, shouldn't be hard to find if you're interested.

They'll never stop. It's Tom Hardy, so I'm not outright saying it'll be fucking awful, but it'll probably be awful.

Oh? I hadn't heard that it got the R rating. Welllllll then, that actually does make me the tiniest bit optimistic lol. We'll see how the trailers look. Every R rated superhero movie makes me a nervous wreck. If it's a huge success, it helps solidify the fact that R rated films can generate enough revenue for studios to continue doing them, and it'll give people like myself, who are absolutely fucking sick of seeing the same happy Marvel bullshit over and fucking over, purpose for returning to the theater. On the flip-side though, if even one of these films ends up flopping, I'm scared about how detrimental that could be to the R rated superhero movement as a whole. These studio execs are little bitches, and they generally just go with the same shit over and over, since that's the shit that's guaranteed to make money. Of course, you're never going to put out any great movies that way, but the name of the game isn't to create good movies, it's to create revenue.

I had no idea though, I'll be checking into this closely from here on out, thanks for the info Nick.

From what I heard it’s gonna be dark and gritty as fuck. I hope so, I’m so down for that.

That's the way to go imo. Seems like people LOVED Deadpool, but it's just not my style, I thought it was okay, but it felt as kiddie, predictable, and overall meh as most the Marvel movies do. Dark and gritty like Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Nolan's Batman, and Logan are what get me hyped.
