I've been to Flordia, Georgia, South Carolina and didn't have a single issue. Most i'v ever gotten is jealous looks from dudes and women biting their lower lips when i was strolling the beaches in my skimpy euro trunks. (Not speedos but certainly skimpy by American standards.)

I've learned since living in a more city environment that my social dumbness that I had to un-learn largely came from the adults in my life being very poor roll models. Rural people have VERY poor communication and conflict resolution skills.
