Yeah the head gaskets on the C30 are a weak point, and the OEM oil gear will only shatter if you mechanically over rev the engine. I got a oversized billet steel gear set for added protection. The 3.0L is good safely up to 400, anything too much higher and the weak point are the cast pistons, the forged crank and titanium rods are fine up to a little over 500whp.

I’m perfectly happy in the 400-450whp range, when you want 600+ you are looking at a $18k engine build alone, not including turbo, clutch, engine management or any other supporting mods, just engine. These cars just weren’t designed for raw power, but that’s not to say there aren’t a few 4 digit hp NSXs around.

I like being able to handle a use the power in turns a bit too much for me to go into a 600+ hp beast. As far as the cars go, I seem them once in a blue moon here. Seen more huracans in a two month span than I've seen nsxs in 4 years lol. Full build is about 5-15k pretty easily depending what you do, but it's strokable up to 4.2 or a tad bit higher if I remember correctly. Debated selling it for a bit now and getting a new coyote.

Wow 4.2L is a pretty big motor, you would need some serious head work to flow that much air efficiently.

The hr heads flow pretty good from factory but there aren't many shops that will touch the heads of a VQ
