Forum gold prices for some high end items/runes is also interesting, it is still super expensive even on softcore

Public bots are gone. 15 year old free loaders are back tenfold.

Just to reiterate, the game is at its best stage in years, in my opinion. I'm not a fan of the hacks and bots, and it's so nice to see people playing without them for a change.

It's nice to see. I played for a few months, years ago, and it was sad. Might as well been open bnet. Wasn't even happy when I found real gg gear since duped shit surpassed it. So came another long hiatus.
Best time to return. I don't know if I just got lucky and popped my head in at the right time or what.
Not one tppk anymore, horay, though I heard I should back out if I see a sorc with snake minions. Don't get it, but good to know.
Edit: it's also nice to not have people running multiple ip's each running multiple bots to farm. Means when I find something with my char and lonely sandbox barb, it goddam means something

Hi all. after 6 years (since 2012) i have returned to this amazing game. switched from uswest to useast due to more games, pings have been similar on useast for us Aussie players (~250 mark). For those interested in coming back, some interesting call outs / changes I’ve noticed;

- no more spam bots!!!!!! Games are very clean without spamming ‘n’
- items drops are so much more meaningful since there are limited botters/dupers. (during my first few hell mf runs, andy/Mephisto has dropped 35% Travs, bk ring, hoz, 2 vipers etc etc) mfing actually is meaningful again.
- hcl community still strong. People generally helpful, had one pk attempt at my chanter so far
- jsp community trustworthy, I think the general consensus is people want to help one another and help progress the community
- dirty tps still exist, always care when entering pub hell baals portals. unfortunately this is just the nature of HC, everything must be calculated and planned, don’t trust anyone (especially pub)

Some outside d2 install notes:
- windows10 and d2 native lags and is horrible; fortunately there are fixes (google 3dglide)
- most people are still legit loading (sandboxie) including me since HC is just so much more fun with a support BO barb in hell.
- the BEST FEATURE I’ve noticed since returning is; you can now load full player 8s in game if you have the cd keys! and toons. I.e I generally have a BO barb with loot, pally for hammers against CIs, and my plan is to get 8 players self Baal with oak Druid.

as you can see, I am old school, probably one of the few 2003 accounts around. I’ve been in the d2 scene since early 1.09 - probably started d2 in 2000 single player and the best part is I’m still learning, theory crafting and grinding.
