Yeah, there is.

Skinny to fit is 10 fold easier. Once you add adipose tissue, shit doesn’t go away without surgery. It’s easy as fuck to relapse and gain wait.

I've been tiny my whole life. It's literally a fucking job for me to continuously eat above maintenance.

It's also way more frustrating not being able to throw the weight around that some tubby can when they first start. Most smalller guys are intimidated by the fact that they think they'll be made fun of by doing small weight so they never even start. Bigger guys don't have that mental problem to deal with.

Depends... if you are talking chiseled I would say skinny would be easier every time.

But I would think a skinny 5'8 135 pounder would have a more difficult time getting to 185 and remain fit - whereas I think a chubby 5'8 200 pounder would still have its fair share of challenges but it wouldn't be as difficult in my opinion.

I think obese is a different story however. Just depends I guess. I don't think there is a right answer to this.

I've been on the >200 pound side and I don't think it was that difficult to get back down but then again that was when I was 19 years old... good times.

I can’t speak for little guys.. But I will say that I could never “sling weight” as a big guy.

Imagine being 300 lbs and not being able to bench 185. That’s the true fat struggle.

And bigger guys don’t have the mental problem to deal with? Have you ever heard of body dismorphia? Bro, all unfit people have problems to deal with.. But it’s way harder to get fit from fat.

My point with the slinging weight is that you didn't start with 10 lb dumbbells.

Imagine being 140 pounds and benching 55 pounds and struggling.

You're right that everyone has their problems so I'm not sure why you're so sold on one way being harder.

Found it very easy to start small. Always thought I had a hollow leg, could never gain weight, etc etc. But it's all bs once you actually own up and count what 4k calories really is. Went from 165 to 185 in months.

Now regular weight is 205 pushing to make 215 the new regular.

People just lack mental fortitude.

I’ve met a lot of overweight/obese individuals who don’t like the idea of the gym due to their weight and fear of being judged. I think that’s more common than what you said. That’s also why planet fitness has a great business model since they’re trying to make out of shape people feel welcome since they might not feel as judged since it’s the “judgement free zone”.

I started at 150 and started out benching like 65 lbs iirc so been there done that. Didn’t feel bad though personally.

But arguing from the other side, it’s easy as fuck when you’re skinny to just look in the mirror and be content with what you see and give up.

Scrawny dudes feel the same way. Do you wanna be the guy putting up 10lb dumbbells next to 4 other dudes tossing around 60lbs like it’s a paper weight? :P

For skinny people it's hard to go from scrawny to fit
For fat people it's hard to go from fat to fit

Just like it's easier for a skinny person to lose weight than a fat person and vice versa for the fat person
