My friend and I got into a discussion about, if it is easier from going from being out of shape/fat to muscular and fit. Or, scrawny, to muscular and fit.

What are your thoughts?

Skinny to fit is easier in my opinion. Not having to deal with issues like excessive skin and stuff, just get your eating routine right and go lift heavy.

It's still funny though because discussions like that always end up with people pretending that the situation they are in is way more difficult than the opposite.

Agreed. I'd much rather go from skinny to fit than fat to fit

Skinny to fit is easier. It's hard to go from fat to fit. I've done it to a certain extent, and every time I look in the mirror all I can think about is how disgusted I am and how it's not enough. Regardless of how good I look at any certain time. Sucks and feelsbadman.

its entirely case by case, I know fat people who would literally just went into starvation mode eating 1500-2k cals a day and after half a year they were no longer fat but naturally had 18 inch arms, tree trunk legs, and huge shoulders...

also seen random skinny kids go from a twig to a literal greecian statue just from noob gains for a few months in.

I feel like essentially it’d take about the same time muscular wise, if it weren’t for physical restrictions such as cardio related exercises I feel give the skinny person a definite advantage.

Where as the mental aspect of going from fat to fit is easier in my opinion, because you have that extra drive every time you look in the mirror to better yourself. Where as “skinny” isn’t nearly as shamed in society, so it’s easier to just be content with where you’re at and give up.

The bigger Dude will be able to throw up a lot more weights, however the little dude will shine in the cardio/core aspects.

Scrawny dudes will typically have to start their build from the 10lb weights on the rack where as I’ve seen completely out of shape big dudes throw up 55lb dumbbells no problem.

Regardless, determination needed on both ends.

skinny to fit is probably easier. but people who were fat and lost weight always have the nicest legs. its like just having to walk from point a to point b with their heavy load is a work out.
and if someones skinny because they suck at eating food itd be harder for them to get bigger.

Yeah, there is.

Skinny to fit is 10 fold easier. Once you add adipose tissue, shit doesn’t go away without surgery. It’s easy as fuck to relapse and gain wait.
