Depends on the dog I'd imagine. For instance a Pitbull actually has a pretty weak bite force. It's only a third or a Doberman or so and something like a kangle would outweigh and just kill you.
Once you hit a 600 pound bite force it can snap the average male arm in one bite. I'd dare to say you won't be out wrestling something that weighs more than you has more acceleration and explosiveness and far more force.
In Canada we keep them around to kill wolves. The kangle can toss hundreds of pounds from the maw treating a 200 lb man like a rag doll. You could never stabilize to get a grasp around its tree trunk neck. You would be shredded limb from limb.
We owned a grooming shop in a farming heartland. I can tell you from helping my mother move the stubborn asses that you don't have a shot. I am 220 deadlift 600 lbs am athletic and explosive, until you see these monsters in person you can let your imagination flow but iv had a reality check. I'd get wrecked.
