what's the right way to paint your calipers without voiding the warranty?

Don't do it.

you can afford a brand new audi, but you're going to attempt to paint your own break cals

Duff, have them powder coated, just like I suggested for your wheels.

I was just assuming the Audi dealership can answer questions about the audi warranty.

doesn't hurt to check :P right?

Most dealerships are going to tell you what is in their interests, which would be to keep it 100% factory and only they work on it.

Hardly any dealerships will flat out tell you it's okay to do, even though it is.

Remove the calipers and get them powder coated...

And you don't break warranty... (Even if you replaced the brakes for bigger ones)
Then it's only the brakes that void warranty, the rest of the car is still under warranty

You can also just remove the wheels, clean the calipers and paint it with a brush, but all the paints I have used the brake dust eat trough after time, you need to clean it often to keep it shiny.

A friend used some on spary, it was easier and got the same result

And use real caliper paint

Painting the calipers is not a bad idea as long as you prep the surface really good. Using a high-temp paint is recommended.
