If you want a laptop, get a laptop. As for a PC the build I gave you is about as good as you will get price/performance.

of course! i'm just asking which would be the better move! ^-^

could you recommend a laptop in the $600~ range as well so I can send both?

I can't recommend a laptop in that price range. They would be a recipe for severe disappointment.

Here is the newegg navigation...keep in mind I wouldn't buy a laptop under say...$1100, gaming or not. These are non-gaming.

Dude, I'm not gonna recommend things that I don't think are a smart purchases. You can find someone else to do that. :)

but i feel like I won't notice much of a difference on mmo's that are cpu intensive, since most mmo's favor intel cpu's. or am I wrong?

right now i'm playing BDO a lot, its pretty un-optimized but at medium settings i get 30-60 fps depending on the areas i'm in.

I'd also like to play GW2, which is also crappy optimized, so will I notice even a slight performance for this price in those 2 games?

Why did ask for suggestions then argue with them?

it wasn't an argue, i was asking if I was wrong about thinking if it would make a difference in specifically those 2 games. Don't get all defensive for other people and take the things other say in a wrong sense. Have an open mind.

8GB is plenty unless you specifically run lots of applications simultaneously or run memory intensive applications. Just be sure to leave room to upgrade.

I made some suggestions on laptops here http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=77539291&f=189

It was on Walmart, currently out of stock, not sure when/if it'll be restocked.

There's also one on Office Depot.
