Ok, so I know it's not a lot, but I'll offer 10fg to the person who can put me in a solid direction/recommendation for the "best" laptop I can find for photography / photography software uses.

I know this is a very vague and opinionated type of question however just to make clear why I'm asking, its for the wife as a Christmas present and I don't know too much about photography but I'm pretty keen to computers... just not sure what exactly makes a solid performance photography laptop:)

Thank you in advance!

Ive been researching laptops for photography and video editing, for myself.
Ive basically settled on getting the Dell XPS 15. 4k screen. 7700hq 1050 ti 4gb.16-32gb
since i need it for travel it seems ideal at 4.5lbs where as a budget 1080p screen inspiron with same specs is 5.5+ lbs(not 4k, thus worse colors on the screen that you need for photo editing)
4k screen seems to be ideal for photography(and if you edit video in 4k) and the screen would cover the full spectrum of the colors you need for Photo editing... but the drawback is power consumption
Since i need more CPU power for video processing, you might be able to get away with a lower spec cpu(still probably want an HQ processor)
Dedicated graphics card doesnt need to be awesome. thats why im settling with a nvidia 1050ti 4gb

If you go mac you will pay more, but their screens are some of the best.

Not a mac, because hamburgers have a lot of grease. Stay away from fast food if you want to live long.
