is windows 7 even useful anymore? does it support dx12? arent benchmarks way better on win10?

i've always gotten the same or higher results as other people using windows 10 with the same hardware, though i've pruned my 7 installation carefully. No dx12 true but fuck dx12, there's no dx12 exclusive games worth playing (they're all microsoft exclusives) and the industry is fighting against the monopoly in favor of cross-platform support i.e vulkan

You won't get updates on Kaby Lake unless you apply an unofficial patch, google away if that's a concern.

Don't go back to 7.

That being said, grabbing the latest build of Windows 10 (version 1709, build 16299) and doing a clean install of that will get rid of bloatware.

Don't go back to 7

Tells user to download a specific build so W10 doesn't have bloatware

pick one

W7 64-bit > all

Windows 7 isn't full of ads and doesn't have nearly as much bloatware as any W10 version.
