Recently I just swapped graphics cards in my computer to somewhat modernize my desktop (GTX 285 SLI > GTX 660 > GTX 970 SSC in a two week period.)

AMD FX - 8320 @ 4.0 GHz OC
8GB DDR3 1600
MSI 970 G46A mobo
GTX 970 SSC
1 TB seagate 7200 hdd

I picked up the 660 and 970 off craigslist for $60 and $100 respectively (thought the 970 ssc was too good to be true at first).

Right now I'm just wait for the new year so I can use part of my tax return to possibly build a new computer. In the meantime I was thinking about adding some more RAM and an SSD to my current computer. I'm wanting to play PUBG, GTA V, The Witcher 3, and possibly stream as well. How future proof am I with my current build minus SSD to play these games for the next year or two?

I do have some spare parts that I was considering selling but I thought it might be possible to make a secondary streaming pc with them. If I made a secondary pc I would put in at least a Q6600 since they are less than $20 on ***

Intel C2D E8500
4x 2 GB OCZ Reaper DDR2 800
400ish W psu (label is peeled off and I don't remember)
2x GTX 285s
GTX 660

Opinions? I was looking at the Ryzen 5 1600 if I do upgrade.

Here's a decent 1600 build you can play around with till income tax time...it's editable.

I wouldn't spend any more on your 8320 build, and the RAM for example will not work on a 1600 build. You can grab the SSD ofc.

Buy an SSD and a decent cpu cooler, push your overclock to like 4.5, and just use that for a while. Maybe upgrade to 16gb ram.
