literally has an uptime of 350+ days of the year since 2007

power went out one day and i booted her back up, and suddenly the only account on this machine had lost administrator privileges. i can't remember the last time i touched a system setting

i don't remember the password to the old admin account either

any ideas, fellas? :huh:

boot with a linux live disk and remove the admin pass.

is there not a way to accomplish this within windows?

i wouldn't know what to do after booting from the flash drive

Thats what googles for, but if thats too much then take it to someone and pay them to do it.
I'd directly link you a guide but I don't know if jsp will allow the link so I'd rather not.

If you could accomplish it via windows then whats the fucking point of even having the protocol.
Here's a lock with a key but if you loose the key its ok just push that button and it opens.... :rofl:

i have a flash drive designed to unlock windows accounts but it's buried in my closet somewhere for like a decade i cant remember what the tool was called...

Search for and download an old utility called Dial-A-Fix. It supports XP. On the Tools menu, there is a Repair Permissions option (this runs a Secedit script in the background). This may fix the problem, but it isn't guaranteed to.
