So my laptop crashes like once or twice a month with this error message, has happened about a dozen times now through the last several months: stop code: SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED, what failed: igdkmd64.sys

I did some basic google research and it sounds like it's a driver issue, so I went to Device Manager > Display Adapters > Inter(R) HD Graphics 3000 > Update

but than it says "the best drivers for your device are already installed"

so I'm not sure the problem. Any advice/help? thanks.

Asus x75A series. It's either 3 or 4 years old.

I googled it also. Seems others are having similar problems. They suggested that you manually download the video driver from Intel and then uninstall then install the one you downloaded.

What version of Windows are you using?

The problem is i have no idea which driver to download manually on the intel website. There's a lot of different ones i have no idea, never have had to do this.

...get the FREE version from the: Piriform Link
...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility.
...simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.

He has an HD3000 gpu... its stated at the top.
Theres no windows 10 specific driver for this.
speccy won't "help"

He can try to use the one for windows 8/.1

Either recommend one yourself, or not.
I went to Intel's igpu driver download page and they seem to be sorted by chip code name and generation, and by Windows version
