You are supposed to use a 6+2 for a 6 pin, after separating the +2 part.

As for the rebooting...

Make sure the CPU thermal paste is done properly, make sure the RAM is fully seated and in the proper slots...same with vid card.

Make sure that you have the CPU power cable attached to the motherboard properly. Double check that the front panel connectors are hooked to the motherboard, properly.

ram wasn't seated, needed a man handling i was afraid to do and my it buddy popped it in and away she went
