Then please fill me in.
6-7 = mediocre
8 = good
9 = amazing
10 = perfect
What are 1-5 for?
I mean im not sure if you just try so hard to never go back and admit you were wrong, but on a scale where 1 is worst and 10 is best, 5 would technically be average or mediocre.

I don't see how 5 is average in that scenario at all. Just because it is the median doesn't mean it is what an average movie is scored lol...
It's hilarious how hung up people get on trying to prove me wrong. perhaps you should take your own advice, since your argument is that my way of grading movies is inaccurate, which is possibly one of the most absurd arguments made in a sub known for having some of the worst/thickest users as frequent posters.
But here you go, I'll break it down for you
5 - Fail, bad, but on the cusp of being acceptable. Probably scored mediocre in 1-3 categories
4 - Fail, bad, no longer on the cusp of being acceptable. Probably have scored mediocre in 1-2 categories
3 - Fail, horrible, unwatchable and maybe scored mediocre in 1 category
2 - Just awful, almost certainly scored near the bottom in every category.
1 - Reserved for the absolute worst movies ever made, not a rating I've given out many times in my life, and I tend to avoid movies I think will be this bad.
This is a simplified version, but when I review movies, I take everything into consideration, and based on the combined scores of acting, directing, story, dialogue, camera work, audio, soundtrack etc.. sometimes a movie can get bumped or knocked a grade. Say it gets a 10 in acting/directing/dialogue, but they shit the bed everywhere else, I'd probably still give it a 7.5-8/10, because I weight certain things more heavily than others
If you care that much, i could post a detailed analysis of the next movie I watch, but it's pretty fucking pointless. You and I can assume only the thickest person in existence would still be trying to claim that my scale is inaccurate, when it's my fucking scale lol. I literally can't explain this anymore thoroughly than I already have. A C in my country is a 70%, even a point lower is a D, which would be a pass, but an unaccapetqble pass. You would lose grants, or not be allowed to play sports etc.. hence being 1 point above that being painfully mediocre, and my rating was a 6.5 to 7. So, passing but not good to ya, it was okay.
Edit @ Fuzzy - I quoted you because you actually use your head, and I wanted to point that out for these guys still arguing with me over nothing.
