My biggest reason to buy locally is the road hazard warranties and free repairs, Costco includes it, discount tire is a few bucks more per tire, but I have used that enough to make it worthwhile to me

You know road hazard warranties is nothing right?

The only Nokian available for my preferred size is the Hakkepillitta 7 and R2 , and both are winter tires which I do not want nor need

The WR G3 is available but only in a 215 and not in stock at any Seattle area stores

Firestone have to come from Firestone though, not available from either Costco or Discount Tire....plus I have been less than pleased by their attempts to upsell me and I have a long history with both DT and Costco

That sucks, I love mine. Best tire I have ever had even in slippery conditions hands down. They are made of silica and not a hard rubber compound and just grip like nothing I have ever owned. It's the only tire brand new that I couldn't just roast off with my truck, it gripped and launched my ass instead.

The road hazard warranty is only good if you need one replaced, not repaired.

I'm not 100% sure on treadwear yet, but i have "Sumitomo HTR ZIII summer performance tires" and I love rhem. They're about $80 a tire and handle better than anything I've put in my car yet.

I had those on my Mustang too. Lots of grip, very cheap, and they lasted me a good while. Only downside is they cant handle the cold.

Those sumihomos are an ancient design and compound. They are great for a street tire on something 250whp or less if you want the cheapest thing you can find. We used to buy them just for burnouts 10 years ago.

We don't get a lot of snow, and I do have a nice pair of like-new Michelin defender LTX m/s tires on the suburban, but I still want my car to be capable when it does get cold out....I will give the 710s this, they did really well in last years snow, I drove from north bend to renton on them in about a foot of snow...

Biggest thing for me is performance in wet, I do live in WA afterall

I should probably go with what I know and get a pair of Michelins, the ones on my truck are phenominal
