I will be buying them at either Costco or Discount Tire

So my options are brands from those 2

Not looking to spend $200 a tire, but definitely don't want the cheapest junk either

I am looking for something with good grip and tread wear, quiet and a nice ride

Going on a 2009 Malibu LT, it is the smaller 4cyl motor but still manages to spin out the FR710 firestones currently on it

Size is 17", current are 205/50 but I want to go a little wider with a 215 or 225 45/50/55

Looking for recommendations, I'm pretty heavy on the gas and brakes if that makes a difference

I'm not 100% sure on treadwear yet, but i have "Sumitomo HTR ZIII summer performance tires" and I love rhem. They're about $80 a tire and handle better than anything I've put in my car yet.

I don't think the continental extreme contact sport are available for my size from DT

I know neither of my options has Sumitomo

Anyone have any past experience with the BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport? Really solid price on those at Costco right now

The only Nokian available for my preferred size is the Hakkepillitta 7 and R2 , and both are winter tires which I do not want nor need

The WR G3 is available but only in a 215 and not in stock at any Seattle area stores

Firestone have to come from Firestone though, not available from either Costco or Discount Tire....plus I have been less than pleased by their attempts to upsell me and I have a long history with both DT and Costco

I ordered them through tire rack and had them mounted locally. Tire rack and discount differ slightly on brands but cost + shipping is almost always pretty close. My local guy is a discount tire rep and he quotes me the exact price from the website usually so there isn't much to be saved.

$60 mail in rebate and 2 years of road hazard coverage.

I've also used kumho ectsa LX platinums in a similar size on a BMW and they were fantastic for the price.

My biggest reason to buy locally is the road hazard warranties and free repairs, Costco includes it, discount tire is a few bucks more per tire, but I have used that enough to make it worthwhile to me

I mean you can literally get a tire plug'd for like 10 bucks...
