Sup guys. I have a 2012 Wrangler and two weekends ago I went on a camping/wheeling trip to Drummond Island, MI. When I got home from the trip my Jeep started making this terrible squeaking noise while driving. So I narrowed it down to the front driveshaft (it had some play in it). I pulled the driveshaft and the squeak went away completely and it drives SOOOOO much smoother. I did notice that there was some play in the U joint that is closer to the front axle so I ordered a replacement from Spicer that will be here today. Now, I have a double cardan extended from driveshaft to make up for the angle that the 3.5" lift put on it. Should I only replace the front u joint (that I know has play in it) or should I just replace all 3 u joints while the driveshaft is out?

im assuming here that the u-joints you got are non greasable, so if thats the case i would replace them all with greaseable ones

Yeah they're not greasable. Shit. I'll look into those ones, I didn't even know they existed. Thanks!

Spicer has a cheap line that are "no maintenance" They are junk. throw them away.

Either buy the expensive ones from Spicer or get some carquest ujoints that have zerk's in them. Give them a pump every time you change oil and they'll be fine.

I say the cheap spicers are junk because I've gone through 3 of them already.

i mean, i wouldnt say that spicer is junk persay, its just that youre using a joint thats too small for the job

i have 1350s all the way round in my driveshafts and dont have an issue, but in the axle im using yukon hardcore ujoints, those are pricey

These are the axle joints in the wife's truck (not even 500whp on kill) and still only on a 20x10 wheel with a 33x12.50 tire. The cheap spicer joints aren't for shit in my opinion. I've had no luck with them. Right now I've got a greaseable spicer on one side and a greaseable carquest joint on the other side and both have about 50k on them with no issues so far.

My truck has 1350's on the axle joints and 1410's in the dirveshafts. Never broke any of those yet. I did candy cane a rear drive shaft on slicks though. That was cute.
