So I'm a FPS gamer and everyone keeps telling me a monitor makes a huge difference so here are my options.
I'm not a good player and I don't expect this to make me better, but there are something I don't see that others do and I am hoping this cures that.

#1 BenQ ZOWIE XL2411 24" 1080p 1ms(GTG) 144Hz < seems to be king of the crop $250
#2 ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 1ms (GTG) Backlight 144Hz < 2nd choice for $200
#3 Acer GN246HL Black 24" Gaming Monitors, 144 Hz < seems to run a very close third at $200

being as im not great if there isn't a huge difference i'd rather not waste the extra $50

thanks again for your input.

Do you have the specs of the PC which the monitor is going to be used with? And which monitor do you currently use?
You can use a tool such as Speccy, to retrieve the specs, if you don't know them: https://www.piriform.com/speccy

I personally own both #1 and #2 from your list, I'd say the extra $50 is not worth it for the XL2411, over the VG248QE.

Don't have your hopes too high about curing that problem. While more responsive monitors may help, i think the bolded part has to do more with the person.
I usually play csgo/pubg with full party of friends, and 1 buddy in particular truely cannot see something that we all see. He blamed it on his shitty monitor at first, but after he got a nice new one, he still has the same problem =P
Everybody is different though, so hopefully it helps you?

#3 also has no display port.
just get this and call it a day imo
supports freesync if u will ever need it in the future as well

you should really read the post mate

he is asking for your PC specs, that is vital if you want to fluently game on a high refresh rate monitor

list them.

Hi John,

Not only did I read his post and I am truly grateful for everyones responses here, but I also DL piriform and I have my specs, but his comments are exactly the comment I needed to hear.
My computer is 4 yrs+ and I know it NEEDS help, but the guy who just upgraded my system gave me his opinion and he feels if I add more RAM which I have I just doubled it that it WILL support a 1 MS 144Hz Monitor.
So his comment that in his opinion the Ferrari of Monitors (BenQ) wont make much of a difference and the $50 isn't worth it, so I should just go with the durable Ford! I'm great with that response.

*On another note; my comp guy says ASUS is Better than AOC and if the 2 are the same in price I should go with an ASUS. Therefore I didn't mention a AOC monitor as #4.
BUT

1. I hope he is wrong or I will not be playing PUBG anymore. this is really disturbing to me. I Know I am an Old guy and I have Old vision and after 40 98% of all people start getting some sort of vision quality loss. But I really do have a very crappy monitor and everyone that leaves feedback on a 1ms 144Hz monitor says they will NEVER go back to a 60Hz.

2. Does anyone else have an opinion between ASUS vs AOC ???
3. I Love using D2JSP there are a TON of very knowledgeable people here and I do value most of the opinions left here. Whe I am spending $200 on something I do research to ensure I'm making the best and educated decision I can.

thanks again to everyone for your comments.

LMAO! Ram ain't going to magically let you fluently play on a 144hz monitor mate. Your friend is talking out of his ass imo :)

1) You are correct, once u go 144hz u cannot go back to 60hz (looks like 20fps)

2) ASUS because more known imo and monitors are amazing, had 2 of them for 8+ years still working great

can you please just list your cpu and graphics card model? this will tell us if it's worth it get the 144hz monitor mate

One key thing about spending $250 on your monitor is that, if your computer isn't great then you won't be utilizing the monitor at its fullest.
Basically, if you're using a 144 monitor, but ur only gettin like 20-30fps cos of an outdated computer...gg

thanks guys I do appreciate it... My comp guy said don't even consider a 240Hz because my system won't support it and it might support a 144Hz but my lack of Ram, crappy power supply and age might hinder it.
I figured I could double my Ram and if I need to upgrade my power supply I might do that too, but the new SSD and video card have done wonders for me already. I am just trying to push the next step before I buy a new machine.

eh, 950 for 144hz. i mean it would if u play at seriously low settings? not worth it i'd get a new graphics card if i were you, that's just me though

your card is still perfectly fine for 60fps gaming though but if u want a higher hz monitor... gonna need a new card

inb4 everyone flames me for helping
