Grim Dawn crucible rewards even in the later later waves are pretty meh. You mostly grind it for solo e-peen or EXP. Also it doesn't get all that much harder as you keep going.

D3 greater rifts are e-peen + ladder infinite scaling. The scaling goes up pretty fast which makes only specific builds work. People are competitive so they all flock to those builds.

It would be total shit for PoE.

removal of AH/trade ruined d3, you'd be surprised how many people play ARPGs just to stack riches and get the best of the best rares etc .

Well, turning the game into a single player experience ruined it, if they took out the AH but kept trading a thing it would have been better than it is

I mean there are a ton of problems with that game, but the lack of any economy pretty much killed it for a huge player base.

sadly devs don't even realize that d3's awesome gameplay and fluidity trump's over those issues. and if they had an economy they'd have 100x more players playing it imo

i mean, you play 100 hours in a char and you have all the legendaries / sets and lots of ancients too... diablo3 is all about death breath now
if anything, it would be like diablo2 where all the "awesome" items like shako and whatnot are sold for 0.1fg after few days into a ladder and people would only pay royalties for min max items like relics

current drop rate are due to trading not being available though, but still is way too much there are like no character progress now its all about leaderboard its pretty sad
