So I just bought a 1080 ti and I cant seem to power it up.
My psu has 1x 6+2 pin and 1x 6 pin
but the 1080 has slots for 2x 8 pin.

I plugged in the 6+2 pin and a white light shows up im guessing meaning it was plugged in correctly.
But the other 6 pin still has a red light when i plugged it in.
I have a 1000w gold psu if that helps
thanks

Your PSU comes with 4x 6+2 & 4x 6 pin cables.

You have more than enough for a 8+8 gpu

You are required to use occupy both 8-pin connectors on the card. Using only a 6-pin on a 8-pin connector does not suffice, hence why the red LED indicator is flashing. The rated wattage and grounding are quite different on the two pin variants.
You are correct that when the LEDs flash white on the card, it's to signal it's been powered correctly, on that given 8-pin connector. Red the opposite.
