ez to squeeze a 1070 in with 8600k at this budget

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/X69mXH

like whys he paying $70 for freesync when hes getting nvidia
why does he need such fast ram
why spend $30 extra for 100 more watts he doesnt need
850 evo not entirely necessary either but he could still upgrade to it and it'd cost as much as your builds

Sorry, I won't recommend parts like those. Especially the RAM and the SSD.

Hardly. Geil moved all the US offices overseas, years ago. SanDisk has crappy write speeds, even assuming they are accurate.
I hate MSI motherboards...bad manuals, horror stories about tech supoport.

I also wouldn't put an air cooler on an 8600K.

But that's just me.

/e This is a better, faster build, will run cooler. I don't vouch for the peripherals...they were OPs choices.

Thats literally $250 more for pretty much 0 performance gain. Yeah its a better build but way more expensive

I have one of those ssds, it works fine but youre right it isnt first pick for an OS drive. Will still boot in 10 seconds though and last you long enough.

MSI mobos have been great for me, I've never seen one have issues personally, so I havent had any experience with their customer service. Bad manuals is only problem for old people.

I probably wouldnt put an air cooler on there either but if it gets me a 1070 over a 1060 its very worth it. And he can upgrade that later. Same with the ssd, im sure he'll run out of space on his 250 gb and get another ssd down the line too.

Doubt any of the components will have issues but if anything is doa or breaks within the first week (like the only Asus mobo I've ever owned did) then he can return it where he bought.

The guy posted make my build $100 cheaper not add $250

Secksii's build is my original build that the OP changed to a case that won't take the motherboard.

The Fractal Design Focus G won't take an ATX motherboard. <-- According to Fractal Design

This was all done via PM, over the past two days.

This is the build I gave the OP 2 days ago...except for the peripherals.

Switched to the 7600K and 1151 mobo to try to lower price.

/ee Actually this is the original build I gave the OP, minus the peripherals.

what? Focus G accepts ATX mobo's. Specifically the Asus - Prime Z370-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard.
It just doesnt fit XL or EATX boards.

He ended up going with the s340 though

Also a great case. Maybe a bit complicated for a 1st time builder though.

As for the Focus G...two days ago when I posted it. Fractal Designs website did NOT list ATX as compatible. I always check the manufacturer's website.
It seems main of the etailer have their specs, instantaneously tied to the manufacturer's specs.
Either that of the manufacturer calls and has it changed.

maybe you looked at the wrong case, the focus g mini.
focus g was always listed atx compatible from their site, i mean it's a typical sized case.

No I didn't. I ALWAYS use the part #, to avoid things just like that.

/e You gotta admit...TWO days is a long time in the ecommerce world.
