Upgraded to a 1060 (from a 7970) 1month ago
feels like my cpu is holding me back
CPU : AMD FX-8320
MOBO : ASUS M5A97 R2.0
COOLER : Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
RAM : G.SKILL RipjawsX 16GB 2X8GB DDR3-2133
GPU: Asus GTX 1060 6GB
HDD : Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
SSD: Seagate 600 240GB
PSU : Antec HCG-620M
CASE : Bitfenix Shinobi Window ATX Mid Tower

Wondering what cpu-mobo-ram combo i should grab
1600X, i5-7400 - 8400(eh mobo) other options?
lets say 550 CAD for combo (including 16gb ddr4)

i bought this 8320 because i told myself i would overclock and never did.
so i wont bother with an unlocked intel as i probly wont OC.

wish i could just go cpu+mobo but ddr4 is being a bitch

thank you friends <3

really though I think you can push 1x 8gb especially ddr4 for all today's games and mostlikely for a bit until you can add another 8gb.

considering canada, overpaying $10-20 for z370 to use the 8400 that outperforms stock 7700k is a bargain.
h/b decent boards were usually 120-140 anyway til recently but dropped due to the release of 8th gen
another option is waiting on the zen2 release early next year, or hboard to save ~20 bucks which isn't worth holding out ~3+ month for imo lol.
1600 isnt bad either, but for gaming purposes intel should last longer. Kinda like if you went with intel instead of the 8320 + ur not OCing anyway

theres also 200$ difference between a 8400 and a 7700k, well in canada at least.

ye and it shows it's slightly better in gaming if not equal. lol
not a fan of asrocks, but u just need a mobo to run the 8400 right now and no plan of OCing, so this seems like a solid deal $139CAD after MIR which is a steal as it's cheapest right now and it's ATX size.

shitty thing is the 8400 is going up in price as i predicted
the 212 evo should fit np
