wow Rew, I don't even..
You're seriously trying to compare two different diets, and having one diet setup with only cardio and the other with only barbell training? lmfao, no shit they're gonna get different results.
Apparently you're one of those guys who thinks IIFYM is all about finding a way to eat as much junk as possible while hitting macros. It's not. It's just not super restrictive and give people more freedom, which seems to be better for long term adherence.
And keto isn't superior to a standard caloric deficit when losing weight. Yeah you'll lose more weight, but not more fat (hint, water). I mean the claims you make, jeez.
Oh and IIFYM isn't science? Haha, you should check out the meal replacements being used in pretty much all studies.
I'm pretty much completely with dark-soul on his comments
I am saying that the usual brand of IIFYM espoused by broscience isn't particularly strong in terms of scientific backing. I am not arguing against IIFYM, as I said before. But, in the mainstream, it is absolutely a way to eat as much junk as possible while hitting macros. The Lord and Saviour of broscience (dom mazetti) says as much in his book. He says it with humour, but he's just laying out the terrain of the average bulker or dieter.
I agree that IIFYM is inherently not restrictive and it can help in terms of adherence, but most people don't move toward a solid practice and understanding of nutrition after following an IIFYM diet.
I disagree with the claim that you won't lose more fat on a keto diet. The following is an introductory list of studies on keto regarding efficacy for decreased insulin resistance and fat loss, along with
comparative studies showing definitively that you lose more fat in ketosis than on an IIFYM diet. I can also show you numerous studies on how ketosis works to improve our odds against metabolic disorders, cancer, Alzheimer's, inflammation and epilepsy.
