I would second this. Our 2011 cruze has performed well for 130k miles and the issues we have had with it were fixed by the 2014 model year.

Get a 1.4L turbo/auto or the 1.4L/manual Eco model. Do not get the 1.8L N/A engine.

Paid 16k for an lt2 impala with 9800 miles on it. Some hail damage but it was a gag gift.

honestly, I would suggest you buy a new civic hatchback for that price range.

I'm quite impressed with my fiances 2017, it has really good acceleration for an economy car.....while achieving great mpg

My wife just got a 2017 Kia Forte with 31 miles 60k bumper to bumper warranty 100k powertrain warranty for $16,000 out the door. Hard to beat the price and warranty. Gets 38.5 mpg so far and isn't too bad in sport mode for pep. Has about 9k on it now, its roomy and comfortable, I'm actually becoming a fan of this little car.

A buddy of mine bought a 4 door Kia a year or 2 ago. Has 50k miles on it allrady, no issues with it. He was around $18k out he door I think, Wasn't a Forte though.
